Richard, a native New Yorker, is a highly experienced trial lawyer who has conducted more than 100 jury trials in medical malpractice, wrongful death, premises liability, automobile liability, labor/ construction, product liability, employment discrimination and police misconduct. He also has substantial litigation experience in the areas of healthcare and insurance fraud, False Claim Act litigation, false advertising and deceptive business practices, and criminal law. Representative cases are available upon request. 

Prior to becoming a founding member of Lifflander & Reich LLP, he was at RubinBaum LLP. 

From 1986-1990, Richard served as a Senior Trial Attorney/Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York Law Department, in the unit that defended major tort claims brought against the City – many of which were high-profile cases, since the unit typically defended liability exposure in excess of $1 million. 

Richard also has considerable criminal law experience, having spent five years as a trial lawyer with the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York at the inception of his career. 

Richard has a B.A. from Lehman College of CUNY, an M.A. in psychology from New York University and a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Kent is a highly experienced trial attorney whose practice concentrates in personal injury defense (including automobile, municipal and private transportation, premises liability, construction/labor law and products liability), appellate practice, employment practice and commercial litigation. He has extensive trial, appellate, mediation and arbitration experience in New York state and federal courts. Representative cases are available upon request.

Before joining Lifflander & Reich LLP, Kent was at RubinBaumLLP. Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Kent received a B.A. from Washburn University in 1987 and a J.D. cum laude from New York Law School in 1994. He is licensed to practice in New York State (1995) and Federal Courts (Second Circuit, Southern and Eastern Districts).

Roman is a litigator whose practice concentrates in premises liability, transportation and trucking, automobile liability, construction/labor law, products liability, medical and dental malpractice, nursing home and long term care litigation, municipal liability, wrongful death and employment discrimination. He also has substantial experience with No Fault administration and litigation, insurance coverage, healthcare and insurance fraud, false advertising and deceptive business practices, and commercial litigation. 

Roman has extensive courtroom, arbitration and mediation experience in state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. He has also drafted and argued numerous successful appeals before the First and Second Departments. His exhaustive preparation, formidable courtroom skills and devotion to his clients has helped him compile a track record of success at winning cases on an accelerated basis, saving significant litigation costs. Before joining Lifflander and Reich LLP, Roman was an associate at Westermann Sheehy Keenan Samaan & Aydelott LLP, a mid-sized defense firm specializing in medical and dental malpractice defense. 

Roman graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2003 (J.D., cum laude) and Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (B.S., cum laude) in 1998. While in law school, he was Executive Articles Editor of the St. John’s International Law Review. Roman’s medical acumen was honed during a year at New York University Medical School (1998-1999). 

Roman is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. 

Roman is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.

Marion Capriotti - Paralegal

Marion is Lifflander & Reich’s senior paralegal, and doubles as its office manager/administrator. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Masters’ degrees from the University of Maryland and the Manhattan School of Music. As an operatic mezzo-soprano, Marion performed principal roles at the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera and in regional US opera companies from Sarasota, FL to Anchorage, AK during an opera career spanning over 15 years. Marion joined Lifflander & Reich in the summer of 2004. Since then she has distinguished herself as a seasoned litigation paralegal who has probably forgotten more law than some attorneys ever learn.
